About Us

Guy Wentzel has been the trusted provider for scattering cremated remains for over 38 years. Over 350 Funeral Homes throughout the Country have used our Services. Guy is a Commercial/Instrument rated pilot with more than 45 years of flying experience. He has a love for flying that began as a young boy watching the military planes fly over his house on final approach for McClellan Air Force Base in Sacramento, California. Some of his favorite planes to fly over his house included the Lockheed Constellation, DC-3, DC-6, C-124 Globemaster. His favorites are the B-17 and The B-29.

He seeks every opportunity to get off the ground and fly in the skies. He enjoys providing this aerial scattering service so as to be able to release your loved ones remains to the wind over their favorite spot. He never tires seeing the beautiful views, landscapes and sunsets. He loves the excitement of the takeoff, the freedom of being in flight and the challenge of  landing the airplane softly on the runway.

Terri’s father Oren C. Lewis served as Guy’s co-pilot for 25 amazing years of scattering ashes as a team. Sergeant Lewis served as a B-29 top gunner in World War II. Oren flew 33 bombing missions over Japan from their base on Saipan in the Pacific. Our company logo is a tribute to Oren’s service as an Army Air Corp Gunner. The logo is patterned after his service gunner wings. He is fondly remembered and missed.

Arron Cambridge took over as the new co-pilot for Wentzel Flying Service in 2010. Guy was instrumental in teaching him to fly as he went on to obtain his private pilot license, and his Commercial/Instrument Ratings. He has been a great asset to our company. Arron & Marcie Cambridge are the new owners of Wentzel Flying Service. He is a well qualified, experienced professional pilot. He too cares about your loved ones final service and your personal satisfaction.

Guy & Terri Wentzel started Wentzel Flying Service in Sacramento, California in 1985. They have been happily married for 48 years and are blessed with 6 children and 26 wonderful grandchildren. Guy and Terri are avid cruisers and have done many scatterings from Cruise Ships off Florida, California, Alaska, Hawaii, Mexico, The Azores, The Bahamas, England, Ireland, France, Belgium, Holland, Denmark, Spain, Italy, The Islands of the Caribbean, and in The Mediterranean Sea.

                                      The Wentzel Family

Each scattering is carried out in a respectful and timely manner. Families can also be notified the day before the scattering if requested. For an additional charge we also offer memorial fly-overs in which the family can choose the date and time to observe the scattering from the ground Mondays-Saturdays. This aerial service provides a glorious farewell which can be seen and done in conjunction with a service on the ground. Unfortunately, due to insurance and aircraft requirements we are unable to have family members witness from the airplane.

Flowers or rose petals can be scattered with the remains. For an additional charge, a Video of the scattering flight can also be provided upon request. We offer a friendly, caring and personal service. We strive to make this an easy and enjoyable experience in your time of sorrow. We offer your loved one the placement of their sacred remains how and where requested according to their wishes wherever it can legally be done.

For additional information you may email at guywentzel@gmail.com, call or text Guy @ 863-206-3374 to make arrangements for your professional scattering service.
